The Taming of the Billionaire Billionaires and Bridesmaids Book 2 edition by Jessica Clare Literature Fiction eBooks

This is one of my favorite authors.
As each of the boys from her Billionaire Boys Club, finally tie the knot, we get the stories of their bridesmaids as they find their own Billionaires.
Game designer, Magnus has been asked, along with his brother, Levi to be a groomsman when his good friend Hunter, weds his fiancé, Gretchen. And knowing Gretchen, her friends are going to be like Gretchen herself, loud, quirky, opinionated, and a bit odd. And lucky Magnus, he gets paired with "the cat lady".
After an accident, Edie changed her college major, and settled on a career as a feline behaviorist. A sort of cat psychologist. With her sister Bianca as her assistant, she tended to the cats who needed extra care. She also adopted several special needs cats. She truly was a cat lady.
Edie and Magnus had an instant hatred of each other. But when Levi needs Magnus to distract Edie so he can date Bianca, he reluctantly agrees. Only because Levi refuses to work on their newest game, until he can get Bianca out of his system. Simple. Until feelings get involved. And people begin manipulating and lying.
This is a very quick read. It is well written, with a sexy alpha male. Lots of humor, and as always, with this author, a happily ever after.
It can be read as a standalone. But both the Billionaire Boys Club, and the Billionaire and Bridesmaids series are well worth reading. Highly recommended.

The Taming of the Billionaire Billionaires and Bridesmaids Book 2 edition by Jessica Clare Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

I love this author...I've read all of her "Billionaire" stories and cannot tell you which of them I like better. They're all exceptionally great, softly erotic fun. And as much as I enjoyed this book...reading about Magnus and Edie...there was so much missing in character details. Usually Ms. Clare gives us a strong character descriptions up front...with this story, the deets trickled in as I read along...not allowing me to connect to the characters. I'm they type of reader who needs character descriptions to lay a visual in my head and gain a connection to the characters. So I'm reading this story with question marks floating around in my head, taking my attention off the growing plot.

Magnus Sullivan is an internet game designer/developer/programmer and self made billionaire...partnered with his younger brother. Except for green/gold eyes, there isn't any other feature that endears him to the reader. I don't know how old he is, his hair color etc. But we DO know that he's a big man...other than that, nada.

Edie (eye color, last name or age, anyone??) is a low maintenance kind of gal. She's a cat behaviorist and because of her profession, jeans and t-shirts are the norm for her...wearing her wavy shortish hair in braids. Edie is feisty and direct with a sharp sense of humor and can cut a beeyotch down to size from across a crowded room. She doesn't tolerate stupid people. She doesn't trust easily due to a nasty break-up. And because of a skiing accident that's given her a bum knee, she doesn't tolerate pity for her limp either.

The plot of this story isn't anything new...nor was it believable. It's the story of using lies and subterfuge to get to know someone and then without expecting it to happen, serious emotion comes into play causing all the subterfuge to come to light and bites them in the fanny. I'm the type of reader who normally enjoys the story the author is trying to convey and usually I go with the flow. But I couldn't get past the fact that our two protagonists don't like each other at all and the flimsy, weak excuse that's dreamed up to get them in the same room together was so bizarre, it just wasn't credible. Believability is shot out the window. Even so, Magnus eventually becomes attracted to Edie's pissy and fiery disposition and her sarcasm makes him smile. Lastly, where were all the best friends of Hunter? I mean, he's getting married to Gretchen Petty (which is the reason for everyone in this book coming together)...and he's got so many best buds...yet none of them are in the wedding party. I didn't get that... All the groomsmen in THIS story were people I'd never heard of before (except for Logan & Asher). Anyway, this is a story of manipulating someone because you need something --- never considering how the person being lied too and manipulated will react to being played. I enjoyed this story. It was definitely entertaining...but it's not one of Ms. Clares finer moments.
The Taming of the Shrew meets Billionaires to marvelous effect. I am an established fan of Jessica Clare’s Billionaire Boys Club and its spin-off Billionaires and Bridesmaids. Those unfamiliar with either series should have no trouble jumping in here. Those familiar with Beauty and the Billionaire should rejoice at the presence of Gretchen and Hunter in this story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this installment. Some reviewers have indicated that they had issues with the heroine. Edie is not a sunshine-and-roses, sweet-as-can-be heroine. She’s blunt and straightforward. She’s is who she is (which may come across as prickly to some), but she is never cruel. I liked her. Magnus is a driven, yet affable hero. I felt like there was excellent chemistry between the pair. The overall story was fun and funny and touching everything I have come to expect from the novels in these series.
