I'm a fan of Patricia Polacco and admire that she tackles difficult subjects for older children in many of her books. However, I will admit that I was delighted to see this sweet story that is perfect for even the youngest to enjoy. Once again, I feel that Polacco was spot-on in her portrayal of the young girl and her relationship with her grandmother and stuffed bunny. My 4-year-old daughter in particular adores this story and frequently asks for a bun-bun button bunny of her own!

This has been one of my daughter's favorite books since she was five. She's almost eight now. It tells the story of a young girl whose loving grandmother sews her a toy named Bun Bun Button. My daughter especially loves the detail of how the toy is sewn with a special ear pocket. Bun Bun accidently floats away on a balloon to have it's own adventure but much to relief of the young girl, the treasured toy ends up back at the grandmother's home. I chose this book for my child because it expresses the special love in the grandmother/granddaughter relationship and because it shows simple joys in life and encourages imagination. My daughter gets an extra kick out of it because she thinks the name, "Bun Bun Button" and the illustrations are funny. As my title states, I even sewed my daughter a copycat after her repeated pleas for her own Bun Bun!
When Gramma gives Paige a stuffed bunny, called Bun Bun Button, Paige holds onto her new lovey, tight. Paige takes Bun Bun Button everywhere, until she ties Bun Bun Button to a helium balloon and accidentally lets her loose into the sky. Bun Bun Button goes on a grand adventure, but eventually falls to the ground, right at Gramma's feet. Happy as can be, Paige and Gramma and her pets cuddle together on Gramma's Old Blue Chair. Young children, ages 3-6 will love this warm-hearted picture book, with Gramma and a lovey and an Old Blue Chair.

This book immediately became one of my daughters favorites. She even begged me to make her very own bun bun button!
Bun Bun Butoon book is great and service was also. Received in very good time and my granddaughters love the book-I even made little stuffed bunnies to match Bun Bun for Easter for the 3 of them!
I would highly recommend this book-I must've read this book about 100x already!

I read this book to two first grade classes and they loved it. Every child can relate to Paige and her favorite stuffed animal. The children brought their stuffed animals to school to listen to the story. Later they drew a picture of their stuffed animal, added a button nose and wrote a short adventure story.
